1. The Meaning of Life
Does it really matter if you know the meaning of life? The greatest minds of the world have puzzled over that question. Live life to the fullest today! Observe the miracles in nature. Feel the cool green grass under your bare feet. One meaning of life is to live with cautious gusto by feeling, seeing and hearing nature.
2. Mom used to say “Life Is Tuff — that’s T – U – F – F”
Do you ever say my life is much too complicated? Choose right now to simplify your life every day.
I choose to simplify my life by getting rid of things that I was saving just in case they would be useful at some time. That very large black purse was too big when I received it as a gift 20 years ago. It’s still too oversized and bulky. When I donated it, along with plastic bags full of other clutter, I felt proud to be able to help others who would appreciate these bits and pieces.
Excess baggage in the form of struggles from the past must go too. The past is gone, done, over with — move forward. Your past is always going to be the way it was – So stop trying to change it!
3. Happiness doesn’t care how you get there
How many people think happiness comes from controlling self and others? What an interesting premise, until “others” is added to the actions. The only person you can control is yourself. If disappointment is your goal, then try changing someone and see what happens.
4. Risk taking
It seems less dangerous to stay in that dead end job, suffer through an unrewarding marriage, or live in an unsafe neighborhood, then to take the scary risk of making changes. Staying also carries risks. So either way, risk taking is involved.
5. If you want to be an author, then be an author.

Unfulfilled dreams can be haunting. Learn all you can learn about making your dreams come true. If you think triumphant people sat back and complained while others made them successful; get a grip on reality. Winners work hard and long to be victorious experts in their chosen field. Overnight success happens only in fairy tales, fiction novels, and the movies. What’s the worst that can happen?
6. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.
Everybody in the world faces procrastination at one point or another. Some people learn how to overcome it and others suffer by constantly putting things off. Chronic procrastinators admit that, in time, it begins to destroy their self-confidence, relationships, health, and finances.
7. The surest way to failure is trying to please everyone.
People pleasers never learned to say NO with conviction. Set boundaries and follow through. If you are busy pleasing others, who is pleasing you?
8. Well behaved men and women rarely make shocking history.
Accentuate the positive. Be known for the good things you do. By the time history is published you will be too dead to know if you made the cut.
9. Opportunity knocks often. How often are you home?
Listen for opportunities, ready yourself to explore the possibilities, write a pro and con list, then decide on a plan of action or non-action. Set your mind to the reality that changes can be difficult, but so very worthwhile if they are what you want to change.
10. Accept the fact that some days you are the pigeon
Some days you are the statue
